Overview
磨针井是「铁杵磨成针」传说的武当版本圣迹:真武圣传谓净乐国太子修道意怠欲下山,行至此处遇紫气元君化身老妪于井边磨铁杵,问之,答曰「磨针」,太子悟「功到自然成」之理,遂回山复修,终成大道。此传说出自《玄天上帝启圣录》圣传系统(另一版本附会李白)。武当道门又以此地每日最先承接纯阳之气,故名纯阳宫。现存建筑为清咸丰间重建的小型院落,殿前有姥姆亭覆井,亭旁立铁杵,殿内存「太子读书」等壁画,是武当圣迹地理中体量最小而叙事最著名的一处。
