Life
Li Guangfu, a native of Danjiangkou, Hubei, is a Daoist of the Quanzhen Longmen lineage and a leading representative of Daoism at the Wudang Mountains. He entered the priesthood at Wudang in 1984, and for many years has been responsible for the Wudang Mountains Daoist Association and temple management, serving successively as president of the Wudang Mountains Daoist Association and president of the Hubei Provincial Daoist Association, presiding over the restoration of Wudang temples and the promotion abroad of Wudang martial arts and Daoist culture. In 2015 he was elected president of the ninth session of the Chinese Taoist Association, and was re-elected for the tenth session in 2020; he is a standing committee member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. During his tenure he has promoted the Sinicization of Daoism, the cultivation of religious ethics, and the International Forum on Daoism.
