Same as above · The system of Grotto-Heavens and Blessed Lands took shape during the Eastern Jin and the Southern Dynasties; the Tang Daoists Sima Chengzhen and Du Guangting fixed the list of names. The precise present-day location is a matter of scholarly conjecture.

Overview

The thirty-first of the Thirty-six Lesser Grotto-Heavens, titled the “Heaven of the Vermilion Sun’s Great Growth,” governed by the Immortal Perfected Gong. Today it is Mount Zhong (Purple-Gold Mountain) in Nanjing, where Daoist temples proliferated from the Six Dynasties onward; very few Daoist remains survive there today.
