Same as above · The Grotto-Heavens and Blessed Lands system took shape in the Eastern Jin and Southern Dynasties, with the list of names fixed in the Tang by Sima Chengzhen and Du Guangting; the present-day location is a scholarly inference.

Overview

The seventeenth of the Thirty-six Lesser Grotto-Heavens, titled the “Heaven of the Great Mystery's Dharma-Joy,” governed by the Perfected Liang Boluan. Identified with present-day Mount Yusi in Xiajiang, Jiangxi; tradition tells of relics from Emperor Wu of Han's quest for immortality here, and the Chengtian Palace, Daxiu Palace, and other temples were built in the Tang and Song, making it a noted Daoist mountain of central Jiangxi, with its temples at their most flourishing during the Daguan era of the Song.
