Overview
There are two main Daoist organizations in Switzerland: ATAOS (the Swiss Daoist Association), founded in 2007 by Fabrice Jordan (Daoist name Mingguang), and the QuanZhen-dao Schweizerische Daoismus Verein (Swiss Quanzhen Daoist Association), founded in 2017 by Chao-Ying Rüdt-Wu, the latter explicitly identifying with the Quanzhen lineage of transmission. Both organizations operate as associations without a fixed temple, their activities centering on the study of the classics, the practice of internal alchemy and health cultivation, the study of ritual, and lectures, and both take part in joint activities of the European Daoist network. Switzerland's multilingual environment makes it a meeting point for the Francophone and German-speaking Daoist communities. Chao-Ying Rüdt-Wu is also involved with the Liechtenstein Daoist Association, founded in 2024. No independently reliable public source gives the precise premises, coordinates, or corporate registration details of either organization; these should be verified directly with each association.
