Overview

The Haiyun Temple is located in the Acheng District of Harbin. Founded during the Guangxu reign of the Qing, it is one of the older Quanzhen Daoist temples in Heilongjiang province; it flourished for a time during the Republican era, was later destroyed, and was rebuilt in the 1990s, restoring the Sanqing Hall and other structures. Daoism was introduced into Heilongjiang along with Han Chinese migration during the Qing, mostly in the form of the Quanzhen Longmen Lineage; this entry serves as an appendix on Daoism in Heilongjiang.
