Life

Li Yuanguo is a research fellow at the Institute of Philosophy and Culture, Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences, and a senior scholar of Daoist studies in Sichuan. His main research areas are Daoist internal alchemy (neidan), Daoist practices of nourishing life, and the history of Daoism in Sichuan. His works include Daoist Qigong and the Nourishment of Life (1988), Historical Sketches of Daoism in Sichuan, Thunder Rites of the Shenxiao School: The Development and Thought of the Shenxiao Tradition of Daoism, Daoist Techniques of Refinement and Nourishment, and the edited volume Compendium of Daoist Qigong and Life-Nourishment; of these, Thunder Rites of the Shenxiao School is a dedicated study of the Shenxiao school, and he also co-authored A Critical Biography of Chen Tuan.
